November was a busy month for the Lodge with several significant events taking place.
It kicked of on Saturday 1st, when I.P.M. Bro. Murrie Thomson was Principal Installing Master at Lodge Newbattle St. Mary 1063 where Bro. Robert Burns was installed for his second year as Right Worshipful Master.
This was Bro. Murrie's first time as an Installing Master and it was a great honour, not only to Bro. Murrie, but also for Lodge Kirkliston Maitland.
On Thursday 13th, our R.W.M. Bro. Les Duff led a deputation to Lodge St. John Corstorphine and it was great to again catch up with our friends at 788.
Then, at our regular meeting on Wednesday 19th, our R.W.M. conferred Honorary Membership on Bro. Tom Hendry, I.P.M. of Lodge Newbattle St. Mary 1063. Bro. Tom received a very warm welcome from the brethren of 482 and was congratulated by all the brethren present.
It was great to welcome Bro. Tom as our latest Honorary member and he was supported by an excellent deputation from 1063, headed by R.W.M. Bro. Rab Burns. And there was also an amazing deputation from Lodge Colinton & Currie 1029, headed by their R.W.M. Bro. Liam Watson. A big thanks to all the members and visitors who came along.
Friday 21st November saw our Annual Dinner Dance, held again at Kirkliston Bowling Club and again in association with Lodge St. John Corstorphine 788.
With 90 present - including eight reigning Masters - it was a truly memorable night enjoyed by all concerned. It was great to welcome along Bro. Martin McFarland and his good lady Fiona as our guests from Provincial Grand Lodge. Bro. Martin is Provincial Grand Chaplain.
With December now upon us, we have two meetings to go before Christmas - and 2015 gets off to a fairly busy start.
We have our regular meetings on Wednesday 7th and 21st and a special meeting on Wednesday 28th worked by I.P.M's of the Province. Then it's the Master's 'greetin 'meetin on February 4th, with our Installation on the 7th.
It's all go!!!
