Two Bridges Six Provinces Cycle Run 2020
The 2019 Two Bridges Six Provinces charity cycle run raised just over £12,500 for MND Scotland - an excellent result, I'm sure you'll agree, and I'd be delighted if all six Provincial Grand Lodges bordering the Firth of Forth could be represented once again.
Taking the view that it's easier to re-schedule an already-organised event once restrictions are lifted, rather than scrambling about at the last minute trying to get everything in place - the 2020 2B6P is going ahead as planned on the first Sunday in August.
We're also pragmatic enough to realise that it might not actually go ahead on August 2nd, or in it’s well-known usual set up. We'll possibly be asking folk to combine some shorter local-to-them rides to equal our total planned 38 miles, or if they can do the mileage on an indoor bike or trainer. We may also have something for folk who are happy to be on the original route with a staggered start for everyone, not just setting off as usual in separate groups. You’ll find out more about that closer to the run.
We're equally aware that all charities have had a massive drop in funding lately and would really love to bring in some donations to help MND Scotland.
If you'll be delegating the co-ordinating of your Province's efforts for the 2020 run, could you forward this to the people involved and also let me have their contact details - thanks.
All participants from last time, and folk who have expressed an interest in taking part, have been notified of this year's run, but I'd be grateful if you could also publicise the event by forwarding this email and attachments to your Lodge secretaries to re-distribute to their lodge members. That way, as many Brethren as possible can have the opportunity of taking part. Remember that participants don't need to be active lodge members - you can have friends and family taking part on your lodge's behalf, with Brethren sponsoring them.
Lodges St Margaret 548 in South Queensferry and St John 598 in Tulliallan have agreed to let us have the use of their premises once again, and many thanks to them for allowing us to do so. Also - if any companies connected to Lodges in your Province would like to take advantage of a sponsorship opportunity relating to the cycle run, that would be greatly appreciated. If you know of any, please ask them to get in touch ASAP.
